Birth Story Medicine
”During a Birth Story Medicine Session, you are telling your experience of a birth-related moment or memory in hopes of gaining clarification, emotional resolution, new insight, and finding new meaning that may lead to increased self-acceptance and peace of mind.”
Birth Story Medicine is for anyone who has experienced birth and has a lingering wish for a new way to interact with their story.
Sessions are open to mothers, fathers, and birth professionals.

FAQ
-How long will it take?
Sessions usually take around an hour, (50-90 minutes). If at all possible please allow for at last 15 minutes after your session for some time with yourself to just sit, contemplate, or write before getting “back to things”.
-I can’t get childcare for the session, is it okay if my baby or child is with me?
In order to get the most out of your session, we need to have the full hour available in a private and distraction-free space. Because we will do the session over Zoom, you can choose a space in your home or even your car if it feels like a nice safe space to talk. If you are unable to arrange childcare or it falls through before your session we will reschedule for a different time.
-What is the price of a session? I am offering sessions free of charge through the month of March, in order to deepen my experience before asking a fixed price, but would appreciate a tip and a review after your session if you feel it is appropriate.
-Is this therapy? No, it is a practice of being led through a new telling of a story related to birth in hopes of initiating a small (or large) change in how you perceive what happened or yourself.
-Why is it audio recorded? Because I am still developing in this practice, I like to record the session so I may listen to it again in the days after, and find areas I can improve on next time. If for whatever reason you’d prefer not to be audio recorded, please just let me know and I will honor that.
-What did training to become a Birth Story Medicine Listener look like? The Birth Story Medicine process and methodology was created by Pam England and refined over the last 30 years. I was taught by my mentor, Nora Niculescu over 14 weeks in a series of 3 part courses that included deep reading and personal inquiry, the mechanics of how we move through birth story processing, and practice sessions with clients. I became certified in February 2024.
